Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. (Aditya Birla Group) and Bulliontex Co. Ltd. have announced a partnership to offer quality outdoor fabrics to the Thailand market. These fabrics, made with Thai Acrylic Fibre Co.’s Durashine™ fibre are used for awnings, outdoor furniture and marine fabrics. Through this arrangement, these fabrics will be locally available throughout Thailand.

The fabrics are manufactured to withstand the extreme weather conditions of Thailand, including intense UV rays, heavy winds and uninterrupted rain. The fabrics are backed by the performance promise of Durashine™ fibre which include a “permanent new look,” “long-term strength and durability,” “fresh fabric appearance” and “protection from chemicals.”

“Thailand is a good market for outdoor fabrics,” explains Thaveechai Sirikulthada, director of Bulliontex. He notes that the weather in a single day can range from very hot and sunny to extremely rainy. The demand for high quality fabrics is increasing from furniture suppliers, awning makers, and yacht and boat manufacturers. Thailand is becoming a boating heaven, and the yacht industry is growing with more than 10 percent every year. Sirikulthada says, “We, therefore, decided to foray into manufacturing the premium solution dyed acrylic fabric, which is the highest performance fabric for such applications, and Durashine™ fibre from Thai Acrylic has been the key ingredient for this development.”

Satyaki Ghosh, CEO of Thai Acrylic Fibre Co., says, “We are proud to partner with Bulliontex in developing a product for Thailand market. Our Durashine™ fibre was being used by our customers in the west, but now with this association, it is good to see it adding value to our local customers and consumers.”

The collection is launching midyear at the Baan & Suan fair in Bangkok. For more details, contact marketing.taf@adityabirla.com.
